Water security against climate change and natural disasters in San Pablo Hidalgo.

After two years of contact with plenty families which have participated in the workshops and cultural activities with San Pablo’s community, we have identified that even if some basic needs were covered after the earthquake of 2017, San Pablo’s population is still vulnerated on their clean water accessibility for dairy consumption and basic healthcare; in case of being affected by another natural disaster or climate change effect their inefficient water supply would be completely interrupted as happened last earthquake. The lack of drinking water in San Pablo Hidalgo economically and socially affects residents, resulting in migration, violence, few opportunities, viral diseases such as Zika, Dengue, Chikungunya; obesity problems and diabetes due to the high consumption of soda and poor sanitation conditions. Therefore, we will seek to impact twenty families that live between Otoño and J. M. Iglesias streets where they have even less water than the other residents. Period: 2019-2020. Funding: Global Giving.
